Descriptions
Outdoor
experiences are a significant part of the Girl Scout adventure. They provide
girls with opportunities to gain new skills and learn a respect and love
for nature and gain insights and self-confidence about their own abilities.
Girl Scouts, Central Savannah River Council has two camp facilities that
are can be reserved year-round for enjoyment of Girl Scouts and other
groups. Reservations are required. Facility descriptions, pricing and
reservation forms are available.
Camp Properties
Camp
Tanglewood is located in Columbia County on 184 acres of land hilly
woodland. Facilities include:
- Olympic sized swimming
pool
- Lodge with commercial
kitchen facilities
- Dining porch seating
120 people
- Camping units of
varying sizes and amenities
- Low ropes course
- Horse facilities
- Natural pond and
creeks
Facilities can be
reserved by Girl Scouts and community groups during the fall winter and
spring. Call the council service center for details and reservations.
Camp
Cofitachiqui is located on a 116-acre site in Aiken County. It is
named for the Indian princess who helped explorer, Hernando De Soto, during
his sixteenth century explorations in the area. It is an outstanding place
to reconnect with nature in all its unspoiled beauty.
Facilities include:
- Lodge with cook
shelter
- Two primitive campsites
with cook shelters
- Swinging bridge
- Newly-restored
nature trails
- 2 Tree Houses
Facilities
are available for rent by Girl Scout troops and groups and by community
groups. Call the council service center for availability and reservations.
